The ultra low cost Mexican airline Volaris that operates routes within Mexico and between Mexico and the United States, announced last week two new international routes between Florida and the Mexico City, and also Guadalajara, capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Flights will begin the first and fourth of December, respectively. reinforcing Volaris’ presence within the United States.
The Director General of Volaris, Enrique Beltranena, described the advantages of these new routes, and explained the importance of adding a second Florida destination, in addition to their existing Orlando route, to their strategy of international expansion.
“We are very pleased to continue to augment the connectivity of our country with the (City of Guadalajara nickname) Tapatia Pearl, where we are leaders with an offering of a total of 35 routes, with 17 of those international; as in Mexico City, where the addition of this route takes us to eight direct routes to the United States,” said Beltranena. Volaris now offers 17 international destinations from Mexico.
“In this way, we strengthen our social and cultural interchange between Mexico and The United States, and we generate more dynamism in economic and tourist activities between the aforementioned cities, putting within reach for our customers an excellent option for air connectivity to visit the famous beaches, shopping malls and attractive cruises that disembark from this destination (Fort Lauderdale), one of the largest ports in the United States,” continued Beltranena.
According to the US Census Bureau, 65.6% of Fort Lauderdale / Miami area residents are latinos, or 2.3 million people.

Mexico City-Fort Lauderdale, starting December 1: Leave Mexico City 7:30am, arrive in Fort Lauderdale 11:45am / Leave Fort Lauderdale 1:15pm, arrive Mexico City 4:20pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Guadalajara-Fort Lauderdale, starting December 4: Leave Guadalajara 9:45am, arrive in Fort Lauderdale 2:15pm / Leave Fort Lauderdale 3:45pm, arrive Guadalajara 6:45pm Thursday, Sunday
